In my last post I alluded to the idea of social media molding the subconscious mind of humanity. Directing it, to what all seems a nefarious end.
This video by Vice News expands on that idea, and explores our new role in the modern world controlled by social media.
No matter your political or religious ideology, there is an opposing view you look at with shock and horror. You wonder how such a large group of people could have been dupped into believing the opposite of what you believe.
Then you use a phrase you read once on Reddit:
Echo Chamber:
Inside a figurative echo chamber, official sources often go unquestioned and different or competing views are censored, disallowed, or otherwise underrepresented.
How much of our own perceived reality is a result of the echo chamber we created for ourselves through the perfectly designed algorithms by Facebook and its ilk?
How much of the hatred and vitriol we perceive via text is real?
And what happens if we change the algorithm?
Is it possible to change the direction of the subconscious human mind by simply changing the echo of our own personal chamber?
