Changing Your Life: Small Steps in the Positive Direction

One Week — One Positive Change

All of us want to change.

We all want to become the best version of ourselves that we can.

We want to achieve the goals of changing that which we don’t like about ourselves, and introduce things we would like.

We could wish, hope it happens, most people do.

Then blame some intangibility when we eventually give up, like we’re used to doing.

So I developed a strategy to change our perspective.

And as a result, change our lives.

One Week — One Positive Change

Will Power is a muscle, it has to be flexed and worked on for it to become stronger.

But failure in making positive changes comes when will power fails to keep the changes going.

You have to coax it, allow it some room to strengthen. And you can only do that one week at a time. One goal at a time.

Quitting smoking has probably been one of the hardest goals to accomplish for myself.

One Sunday I decided: I will not buy a pack of smokes this week.

Just a single week.

I’m not thinking about the mountain. I’m not thinking about how many times I’ve failed.

I’m focusing on the first step.

Then the second.

For a single week my will power was solely focused on one goal:

Not buying that pack.

One Week — One Positive Change

It’s funny what you can accomplish in a single week.

Months later, my will power has won the war.

Change comes through dedication.

Dedication to a single week.

What do you want to accomplish?

What will you do this week?
